Meunier explains why he rejected Everton

Thomas Meunier of Paris Saint-Germain was linked with departure from the club throughout the summer transfer window, with a number of clubs, including the likes of Juventus and Arsenal, interested in his services. However, it so happened that none of the potential moves materialized and he remains a PSG player.

And now, the right-back himself has revealed that Everton were in the equation too.

Speaking to Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws, Meunier said he could have gone to Everton. He is certain that he would have played a lot at Goodison Park, as well as had fun living on Merseyside. However, there was one big problem that made the offer less than attractive for him, and that’s the fact that Everton don’t play in any of the European competitions.

Meanwhile, back in France, the 28-year-old has played in nine games in all competition for PSG so far this season and got one goal to his name.
