Milan rivals vying for Baselli

AC Milan and Inter Milan are locked in the battle for Atalanta midfielder Daniele Baselli, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rossoneri have already completed deals for Luca Antonelli and Gabriel Paletta, while previously recruiting Mattia Destro from AS Roma.

They are now the favourites to land Daniel Baselli, who is reportedly also a target for Inter Milan and Fiorentina.

While Atalanta chiefs are not too keen on selling one of their prized assets, the player himself and his representatives believe the time has come for the 22-year-old to join a top Italian side.

Baselli, who has 42 Serie A outings for Orobici, hasn’t quite managed to establish himself as a first team regular in Bergamo, but he is, nonetheless, regarded one of country’s hottest prospects.

The highly rated midfielder is an important member of Italy’s Under-21 side, and he has made seven appearances for Azzurrini in the latest qualifying campaign.
