Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has been unveiled as the new coach of the Rwanda football team.

He will officially replace Ghanaian Sellas Tetteh, who quit the post during the unsuccessful Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 42-year-old Serbian has vast experience coaching in Africa, as he has had stints at Al Hilal of Sudan, Orlando Pirates of South Africa, Tanzania Mainland champions Yanga, SC Villa of Uganda and even St George of Ethiopia.

“I believe in the potential of this team and have no doubt that with the help of all stakeholders, Rwandan football will reach the next level,” he told New Times.

Sredojevic will be in charge of the team when they face Eritrea in the two-legged pre-World Cup qualifier tie scheduled for November 11 and November 15.

He will work with Eric Nshimiyimana, who was the stand-in coach recently following Tetteh’s resignation, and Rayon Sport’s Jean Marie Ntagwabira.

The goalkeeper coach will be Ibrahim Mugisha. Amavubi are currently in camp preparing for the games later this month.
