With the chance to extend their very eye-catching rise up the Western Conference, Minnesota United will welcome FC Dallas to Allianz Field on Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another dominant display in their 6-1 win over New Mexico in midweek, a result that booked them a semi-final spot in this year’s US Open Cup, Minnesota have transformed into arguably the MLS’ in form side. Now enjoying a rise up the Western Conference and in pole position to secure a play-off spot, it has been their continued performances in the final third most impressing fans around Allianz Field. Enjoying a six-match winning run, Carl Craig’s men have bagged an astonishing 26 goals on that winning run. More impressive, Sunday’s hosts have scored three or more goals in each of those victories.

As for the visitors, playing out a lackluster 0-0 draw against Tijuana in last weeks friendly matchup, FC Dallas have shown signs of a side struggling with their consistency. Aside from a 2-0 win over DC United earlier in the month, Luchi Gonzalez’s side have not picked up another victory since the middle of June. While the guests might still be dreaming of securing a top seven finish in the West, Dallas have drastically struggled with their performances outside of Texas. Suffering a 1-0 loss against Portland in their last matchup on the road, they have lost four of their last five matches on their travels and have not recorded an away win since the 20th of April.
