The leaders in the two Major League Soccer conferences meet on Monday as New York Red Bulls travel to Seattle Sounders.

New York are just a point clear in the race for overall top spot and the Supporters Shield, but Seattle have two games in hand so will be confident of usurping their rivals.

Both sides are on good runs of form, with New York having won their past four matches, while Seattle are unbeaten in their last six.

Sporting Kansas City are second behind New York in the Eastern Conference, and they will ensure their place in the end of season play-

offs if they beat Philadelphia Union.

Peter Vermes’ side have won their last three matches as they look to keep pace with the conference leaders with only five games remaining.

Third play fourth in the Western Conference when Portland Timbers face LA Galaxy at the JELD-WEN Field.

Portland are unbeaten in their last three matches but have only beaten Galaxy once in their previous five meetings.

Bruce Arena’s Galaxy are one of the in-form teams in the MLS, having only lost once in their last nine matches.

Real Salt Lake sit second in the Western Conference and will look to keep the pressure on Seattle with a win over the Whitecaps.

Real have hit a rocky patch in recent weeks and come into the game having lost their last two matches.

Perhaps luckily for them the Whitecaps are also struggling for form.

They have only won once in their last five matches and need to turn their form around to avoid missing out of the play-offs.

Montreal Impact will be looking to steer clear of their third consecutive defeat when they meet Chicago Fire.

However, they have only won once against Chicago in their previous four meetings, and have lost both their matches in Chicago.

New England and Houston Dynamo meet at the Gillette Stadium on Sunday both keen to add to recent victories.

Both sides are currently in the top five of the Eastern Conference but will be wary of the threat posed by Philadelphia and Chicago.

Two sides with feint hopes of making the play-offs meet in Dallas as Columbus Crew travel to Texas.

Dallas find themselves five points adrift of fifth place in the Western Conference, while Columbus are only two points back in the East.

They have met 31 times, with Columbus just edging it 17 wins to 14, but Dallas have won the last three home matches between the pair.

With qualification for the play-offs impossible for Toronto and DC United, both sides will be playing for pride when they meet at the BMO Field.

They are the bottom two sides in the Eastern Conference, although DC United are eight points adrift of their opponents.
