Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City continued their fine form in MLS as the New York Red Bulls recorded a big win.

Western Conference leaders Real Salt Lake maintained their four-point advantage at the top with a 3-0 win over Toronto.

Javier Morales, Ned Grabavoy and Olmes Garcia scored in the comfortable win at FC Dallas Stadium.

Morales opened the scoring six minutes before half-time, side-footing an effort into the bottom corner to finish a counter-attack.

Grabavoy doubled his team’s advantage in the 79th minute, completing a fine team move as his first touch set him up to fire a powerful shot into the top corner from inside the area.

Garcia added to the scoreline with Real Salt Lake’s third, finishing into the bottom corner late on.

Kansas City are two points clear atop the Eastern Conference after easing past Toronto 3-0 thanks to a Soony Saad brace.

It took Saad 21 minutes to put his side ahead as his powerful 30-yard effort found the bottom corner, but his second was far less spectacular as he capitalised on a rebound to tap in and make it 2-0.

Argentine forward Claudio Bieler completed the scoring just after the hour-mark, tapping into an open goal after a free-flowing team move.

The third goal came seven minutes after Toronto’s Reggie Lambe was red-carded on 56 minutes.

New York moved above Montreal and into second in the east after thrashing the Impact 4-0 at Red Bull Arena.

Eric Alexander struck first on 10 minutes after a clever, mazy run before Thierry Henry neatly finished off a Fabian Espindola cross.

Henry turned provider just after the hour-mark as his corner was headed in by Tim Cahill and Peguy Luyindula added New York’s fourth from the penalty spot late in the encounter.

The Philadelphia Union were too good for Chivas USA in a 3-1 win, the Houston Dynamo were 2-1 winners at New England and the San Jose Earthquakes beat the Seattle Sounders 1-0.

Andrew Jean-Baptiste struck late on to give the Portland Timbers a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Vancouver Whitecaps overcame the Chicago Fire 3-1.
