James Morrison has spoken of his ambition to help West Brom secure European qualification following their win over Swansea City.
The midfielder has been a mainstay for West Brom this term, and is hoping that the West Midlands club can finish with a flourish and book a place in the Europa League.
Saturday’s 2-1 triumph over the League Cup winners moved Steve Clarke’s side just four points adrift of fifth-placed Arsenal and Morrison is keen to taste European action again.
“I think we’re going to need to some players if we are going to (compete in the Europa League),” he said.
“I’ve played in Europe before and it was great, I got all the way to the final with Middlesbrough, it was a great occasion travelling to different countries.
“It hampers your season sometimes but personally I would like to play in it and hopefully the club would like to as well.
“It just shows what a fantastic season the lads have had, to beat a team like Swansea, they’ve got a lot of credit this year.
“We struggled last season, and at the start of the season we wanted to put that right and we’ve done that with a lot of hard work.
“If you look at where we were a few years ago and where we are now, we’ve got to keep progressing. We’ve got a really good group of players and we’d like to kick on.”
