Motherwell 11/10 to beat St Mirren in Wednesday’s Scottish Premiership matchup

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Motherwell win

Odds: 11/10 @ Bet 365

With the chance to climb back into the top half of the table, Motherwell will travel to a struggling St Mirren on Wednesday night.

Starting with Oran Kearney’s St Mirren side, coming off the back of shipping four against Rangers last weekend, it’s no surprise that many have the Buddies tipped as the leading contender in the relegation race. Now sat two points adrift at the foot of the table and losing their last five Premiership matches on the bounce, Kearney should also be growing more concerned by his sides form at The Simple Digital Arena. Failing to pick up a home victory since the end of November, St Mirren also slumped to a 2-0 loss against Motherwell the last time the two sides met in Paisley.

As for the visitors, in stark contrast to the Wednesday’s hosts, things could not be going any better for Motherwell. Putting three past Livingston over the weekend and extending their winning run to three matches on the bounce, it will be their recent defensive stability most impressing Steve Robinson. Now going four league matches without conceding a single goal in return, a run that stems back to Boxing Day, Motherwell have also now recorded three wins in their last four matches away from Fir Park. Given the recent gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing an away victory on Wednesday night.
