Thiago Motta has spoken of his joy at joining Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milan for 8.3 million pounds.

His arrival at the Parc des Princes makes him the latest Brazilian name to be lured to the Ligue 1 side.

The 29-year-old joins compatriots Alex and Maxwell, to play under the guidance of director of football Leonardo.

The midfielder says he is proud of his achievements with Inter, but is looking forward to realising further ambitions with PSG.

“I’m happy to have found an opportunity like this one, to join players like these, to be part of a club like this, and to have the opportunity to do something great together,” Motta said.

“I know some of the players, not only professionally but also as personally, like Alex, in Brazil we played in the same team when we were little.”

“I think this opportunity didn’t just happen by chance. I hope, no rather I know that we will do great things for the club together.”

Motta said it was time to move on from Inter, though he enjoyed his time playing for the Serie A giants.

“All this time that I’ve played for Inter has been a privilege,” he said.

“It has been a privilege to play for a club like Inter. We were able to win a lot and win important competitions like the Champions League.”

“I think this is a good time to take the opportunity to thank everyone, especially the president who gave me this opportunity.”

“I’ve explained the reasons why I’m here. I just think I reached a time in my career when both professionally and personally it was time for a change.”

” I just felt this deep down. I got the chance to make a change and to go to a club like PSG, which is a great club that also has the possibility to win things.”
