Bortolo Mutti is the new coach of Palermo.

The 57-year-old Italian succeeds Devis Mangia, who was fired in the wake of Sunday’s 2-0 defeat by Sicilian rivals Catania.

The appointment of Mutti, who has been out of work since being sacked by Bari following their relegation from Serie A last season, was confirmed on Palermo’s official website on Monday.

Mutti, who will be officially presented to the media on Tuesday, will be the 21st man to take charge of Palermo since Maurizio Zamparini assumed control of the club in 2002.
