Nacho tells Real Madrid he wants to leave amid Inter links

Nacho Fernandez has informed Real Madrid of his decision to leave the club at the end of the season, according to Sport.

The versatile 34-year-old defender, who plays primarily as a centre-back and has performed well on either defensive flank as well, has been named club captain ahead of this season, but with everyone in his department of the squad fit, he rarely gets to be named in the starting XI. This season, however, he has made significant contribution to Carlo Ancelotti’s team, currently poised to reclaim the La Liga title and have made it into the Champions League semifinals, mostly due to the injury which kept Eder Militao out of action until recently.

Obviously feeling he has more to offer, Nacho believes the time for him to try his luck elsewhere has come.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest Inter Milan, also set to win the league title, could be an option for the consideration of the 24-cap Spain international as his contract with Real expires this June.
