Competition: Serie A

Market: Napoli win to nil

Putting one foot in the quarterfinals of this year’s Europa League in midweek, Napoli will travel to a struggling MAPEI Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, slumping to a 1-0 loss away at AC Milan last weekend and now failing to win a single matchup since the end of January, the mood in Sassuolo’s camp is at a season-low. With any chance of a suprise European push off the table for another season, it will be the Green and Black’s form in the final third most worrying Roberto De Zerbi. Sunday’s hosts have managed to record just a single goal in over 500 minutes of Serie A action. Also registering just one win in 2019, this weekend could prove to be another tough afternoon for Sassuolo.

As for the visitors, while Napoli may have suffered a hard-fought 2-1 loss at home to Juventus last weekend, Carlo Ancelotti’s side impressively bounced back on Thursday night. Picking up a 3-0 win over Salzburg and putting one foot in the quarterfinals of this year’s Europa League, it will once again be the Blues’ ongoing defensive stability most impressing the former Real Madrid boss. Napoli have recorded four clean sheets in their last five Serie A appearances and have also conceded just one domestic goal away from the Stadio San Paolo since the 3rd of December. Picking up a 2-0 win when the two sides met back in October, we’re backing a similar result on Sunday afternoon.
