Napoli want Cavani back

Napoli are preparing an offer to re-sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, according to Rai Sport.

The 31-year-old striker’s future has been a subject of much media speculation for several years. Recently, reports by various outlets emerged that the striker was unhappy about Neymar and Kylian Mbappe getting far more attention in Paris and that he was looking for a way out of the club. Some even linked PSG with Sevilla’s Wissam Ben Yedder as a potential replacement.

Having spent three seasons in Naples, Cavani swapped the San Paolo stadium for Parc des Princes in 2013, and at the beginning of October this year he had accumulated 252 appearances for the French champions and found the opposition net 176 times. He helped PSG to four Ligue 1 titles, four Coupe de France and five Coupe de la Ligue trophies.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis recently praised the Uruguay international and said that the doors of the Italian club are open for his return. Now it seems they are ready to make the next step as they prepare a contract offer of a salary amounting to around €7million per year to tempt Cavani back to Naples.
