Looking to mount a charge up the Eastern Conference, New York City FC will welcome Cincinnati to Yankee Stadium on Friday.

Starting with the hosts, while New York City would have been disappointed to have only picked up a point away at Columbus last weekend, Domènec Torrent will be impressed by his sides’ recent showings. Unbeaten in their last nine appearances, a run that stems all the way back to the end of March, fans around Yankee Stadium will also be impressed by the Sky Blues’ performances in the final third. Now scoring a pair of goals in three of their last four outings, one man to watch on Friday could be leading goalscorer, Heber Santos. Finding the net away at Columbus last time out, the Brazilian has two in his last three and has been New York’s standout performer this year.

As for the visitors, despite enjoying a bright start to their debut MLS campaign, Cincinnati have really begun to show some struggles of late. Now sat five-points adrift at the foot of the Eastern Conference, interim boss Yoann Damet has seen his side lose their last three matches on the bounce, including a 3-1 hammering away at Colorado last weekend. Picking up just one win since the middle of March, a huge part of their issues of late has come down to their struggles away from Nippert Stadium. The MLS’ latest franchise have lost their last six matches outside of Ohio, including shipping five away at Orlando last month.
