Newcastle bid for Gouffran; Sissoko talks up PSG exit

hot-transfer-newsNewcastle bid for Gouffran

French daily Sud-Ouest understands that Newcastle have made an official offer to sign Bordeaux forward Yoan Gouffran.

The Magpies are desperate to add at least another attacker to the squad after Demba Ba joined Chelsea and they seem to have turned their attention towards the France international.

Newcastle were on the verge of signing Loic Remy, but the striker ultimately decided to sign for QPR.

Sud-Ouest has suggested that the Magpies have made a bid of €750,000 for the player who has less than six months left on his deal at Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Bordeaux are holding out for €1 million, but it is believed the transfer fee will be agreed in the coming days.

Les Girondins chairman Jean-Lois Triaud confirmed last week that Gouffran was likely to be sold in the January transfer window.

Newcastle are also closing in on Nancy full-back Massadio Haidara and Montpellier stopper Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

Sissoko talks up PSG exit

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Momo Sissoko has confirmed reports linking him with a January exit from Parc des Princes.

Sissoko, 27, is heavily linked with a return to Italian Serie A, with Milan reportedly keen on the experienced midfielder.

The player has admitted he is unhappy by the lack of playing time and revealed his plans to leave the club in January.

“I need to play to develop myself, to be happy, and this is not the case in Paris at the time,” the Malian told Canal +.

“I hope that will change when I get back (from Africa Cup of Nations), but if this is not the case, I hope to leave the club.”

Mohamed Sissoko has found it hard to break into the starting line-up under Carlo Ancelotti and only made three Ligue 1 appearances this season.

Sissoko is currently with Mali national team at the Africa Cup of Nations and has come on as a substitute in the opening win over Niger.

Roma sign Bari hotshot

Roma have completed the signing of Bari midfielder Nicola Bellomo, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed.

The same source claims that the Giallorossi have agreed to pay €2 million for half of the player’s contract, with Bellomo set to remain at Bari until the end of the season.

This is club’s first signing of the January transfer window, with the deal set to be officially announced later today.

Nicola Bellomo, 22, has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 6 goals in 19 Serie B appearances for Bari.

Inter and Milan had both expressed interest in signing the attacking midfielder, but Roma managed to beat their rivals for the player’s signature.

The move to Stadio Olimpico is likely to aid the player’s development, especially as Giallorosso boss Zdenek Zeman is famous for throwing young players into the fire.
