Newcastle to offer money and Taylor for Remy

Newcastle United are readying a player-plus-cash offer for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy, according to the Mirror.

Toon boss Alan Pardew is set to offer £6million and defender Steven Taylor for the French international, who is set to leave the Hoops following their relegation to the Championship.

The 26 year old scored six goals in fourteen appearances since arriving from Marseille back in January, though it wasn’t enough to stop Harry Redknapp’s men finishing bottom of the Premier League.

Newcastle were also in for Remy during the last transfer window, though he decided to travel to Loftus Road as opposed to talk terms with the North East club.

Redknapp is keen to land a new centre back following Christopher Samba’s return to Russia, so would be keen to take Taylor should a deal be done between the clubs.

Other than a brief loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers, the 27 year old has been with the Geordies his entire career, making just shy off 200 appearances since turning professional in 2002.
