Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has confirmed that the Midlands side will be making no more new signings with just a matter of hours remaining until the summer transfer window shuts for Premier League clubs. Smith has been able to guide Villa to 12 signings so far during the summer, which comes in the wake of their Championship Playoff Final victory at Wembley just a few short months ago.
One of the remaining criticisms when it comes to Villa’s transfer window dealings is that they may need one more goalscoring striker, but when push comes to shove, it’s pretty difficult to be upset if you’re a fan of the club.
Perhaps there is an aura of worry that they could go in the same direction as Fulham who spent a lot of money during last year’s summer transfer window, but at the same time, there’s no evidence whatsoever to suggest that they’re going to perform in the same manner on the pitch.
