European confederation UEFA will not be punishing Internazionale manager Jose Mourinho, despite his public criticism of referee Luis Medina Cantalejo.

According to Mourinho, the Spanish referee should have given his side a penalty kick in Tuesday’s clash with Manchester United at San Siro.

“If in the second leg, we also have a referee that is in favor of the away teams, we will go through to the quarter finals,” the Portuguese coach said.

UEFA initially said to investigate the remarks, but announced a day later that there will be no further consequences.
