Olic hints at Wolfsburg exit

Croatian forward Ivica Olic has revealed that he plans to leave German Bundesliga at the end of the current season.

The 33-year-old has one year left on his deal at Wolfsburg and it appears as though that will be the last Bundesliga club in his career.

Olic has admitted that he plans to leave Germany next summer, possibly in favour of an MLS switch.

“This is probably my final year at Bundesliga,” the Croatia international confessed to Sport Bild on Tuesday.

“If my body allows me and I am fit, I would like to maybe spend a year in the US or Dubai after my Bundesliga career.”

Ivica Olic spent his early career in Croatia, playing for Marsonia, NK Zagreb and Dinamo Zagreb, although he did spend two years at Hertha Berlin.

He left Dinamo Zagreb to join CSKA Moscow in 2003, where he scored 35 goals in 78 league matches to earn a move to Hamburger SV.

Olic also played for Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, making a total of 165 Bundesliga appearances and scoring 51 goals, winning one Bundesliga title in the process.
