Oympiakos Piraeus have one leg in the fourth preliminary round of the Champions League following a 0-2 win at Slovan Bratislava.

The Greek champions were never really troubled in the Slovakian capital, where Avram Papadopoulos -one of four Greeks in the starting line-up- gave his side a 0-1 lead after just two minutes.

The second and final goal came from Leonardo in the 21st minute.

The win is particularly crucial to Greek football, as Panathinaikos’ chances of featuring in the group phase were reduced by a 3-1 defeat at Sparta Prague on Tuesday.

The return leg between Olympiakos and Slovan will be played in Athens on August 5.
