Two sides who are desperately seeking a boost this weekend, Orlando will welcome Atlanta to the Exploria Stadium in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Orlando might still find themselves battling it out at the top of the Eastern Conference, they are enduring a worrying blip. Putting in what many are billing as a season-worst display last weekend, The Purples were hit with a woeful 5-0 drumming away at New York City. Recording just a single MLS victory in any of their last five attempts over the past month, they really failed to build off of that much-needed 2-1 victory against Philadelphia earlier in the month. However, despite being a side really seeking a boost, Head Coach Óscar Pareja should at least take some solace from his side’s displays at the Exploria Stadium. Last seen on home soil picking up maximum points against The Union, Saturday’s hosts have won three of their last four MLS matchups in Florida.

As for the visitors, parting ways with now-former boss Gabriel Heinze earlier in the month, Atlanta have only continued on what has been a real MLS nightmare. Eventually hit with a 1-0 defeat against Columbus Crew on home soil last time out, the former champions are now tipped as a real outside pick to even clinch a Final Series spot. Without a win in any of their last 10 straight contests, a run that stems all the way back to May 16th, interim Head Coach Rob Valentino has seen his side gain a reputation for their extended problems in the final third. More worrying, it should also be noted that The Five Stripes are yet to record a single victory away from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium since opening the 2021 campaign. While Orlando might be in the midst of their own worrying run, we’re backing a home victory here.
