Looking to book their spot in the quarterfinals of this years France League Cup and continue what has been a very impressive start to the new season, Lille will travel to Strasbourg on Tuesday.

Starting with the hosts, although they may have struggled with their inconsistency at the start of the season, it appears that Thierry Laurey’s men have found their form. Now unbeaten in their last four Ligue 1 outings, it is also worth noting that five of their last six matches have seen over 2.5 goals at full-time. Hoping to continue their unbeaten run in midweek, Strasbourg will be looking for 27-year-old Lebo Mothiba to carry on his goalscoring tally. The South African international now has five in his last six for club and country.

As for the visitors, while Lille could only settle for a 12th place finish in League 1 last season, it has been a very impressive start for Christophe Galtier’s side. Extending their winning run to four matches over the weekend, Lille now sit second in the table and are a leading contender to return to Champions League football. Scoring 20 goals in their 11 outings, their eye-catching transformation has been thanks to the stellar run of form of attacking duo Jonathan Bamba and Nicolas Pepe. Lille’s two leading goalscorers now have seven in their last eight combined matches.
