With the chance to further widen their advantage at the top of the Bundesliga table, Borussia Dortmund will travel to Fortuna Dusseldorf on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Fortuna Dusselford may have managed to pick up a 2-0 win over Freiburg last week, Friedhelm Funkel’s side are still a leading contender in the race to avoid the drop. Now sat in the relegation playoff position, it will be Flingeraner’s defensive struggles giving Funkel this biggest headache. Fortuna’s clean sheet against Freiburg last time out was their first in 14 games, a run that stems back to the 21st of September. Holding just a two-point buffer from slipping back to the bottom of the table, Fortuna will not be relishing Dortmund’s arrival on Tuesday.

As for Lucien Favre’s side, putting in another impressive showing to take three points of Werder Bremen last time out, Borussia Dortmund are now the only side in the Bundesliga yet to be beaten domestically this season. Holding a nine-point buffer over Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach at the top of the table, it will be the form of former Barcelona man Paco Alcacer most impressing Favre. The 25-year-old once again found the net against Bremen last week and has now scored five in his last seven. Sat top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts, Alcacer should be confident of extending that tally on Tuesday.
