Borussia Dortmund forward Ivan Perisic says he could leave the club if he does not receive more playing time in the near future.

Perisic, 22, has seen himself fall behind the likes of Mario Goetze, Kevin Grosskreutz and Jakob Blaszczykowski in the pecking order at Dortmund.

And his diminishing role in the squad has lead the attacker to consider his options.

“I came here to play, not to sit on the bench,” Perisic told Kicker.

“When I see how we win as I sit on the bench, it kills me.”

“I do not want to wait until someone is injured to play. I just want to play. And if not at Borussia, then at another club.”

Perisic only joined Dortmund from Club Brugge at the end of last season.

Despite scoring five goals for the club, he has mainly been used as a substitute.
