Miralem Pjanic has no intention of leaving Roma, according to the player’s agent.

Rumours have surfaced during the close-season that the 23-year-old could look to depart the Serie A side, with La Liga champions Barcelona reportedly considering a bid for him.

But with the appointment of Rudi Garcia as the club’s new manager, the Bosnia international is set to remain in Italy to try and help the club improve on their sixth-place finish in the league las term.

“Miralem is concentrated solely on Roma,” his agent Michele Gerbino told calciomercato.it.

“He is very happy with the Giallorossi and has the utmost respect for the club, so I am convinced they will continue together with reciprocal satisfaction.

“As far as interest from Barcelona, I haven’t heard anything about that and have personally not received any calls.

“There are no imminent meetings with Roma either, as we must first give the new coach time to arrive and get to know the players.”
