Poland 6/4 to beat Uruguay in Friday’s international friendly

Competition: International friendly

Market: Poland to beat Uruguay

Odds: 6/4 @ Bet365

Club football must take a two-week break allowing the international fixtures to once again occur. While many will be disappointed to see their local team not taking to the pitch, they will be contented with a number of very interesting international fixtures. One such game sees Poland host Uruguay on Friday.

Poland were superb in their World Cup qualifying campaign as they qualified with relative ease. Eight wins, one draw and one defeat saw them collect 25 points in total, scoring 28 times along the way. What will worry the fans going into the World Cup is the fact the conceded 14 goals in the group stages, with only Armenia and Kazakhstan (26) conceding more. It is clear that they will need to tighten up at the back ahead of their appearance at the World Cup next summer.

Uruguay qualified for the World Cup in Russia despite what was a largely uninspiring campaign. From their 18 games, they won nine times, but they drew four games and lost five, showing their inconsistency. While they did finish second in the group ahead of the likes of Argentina, Colombia and Chile, they leave a lot to be desired, and they will want to show their ability when they travel to play their European opponents. With 32 goals scored it is clear that they are good going forward, but 20 goals conceded shows that they, like Poland, have work to do at the back. We are backing Poland to win this one, and they have been given odds of 6/4 by Bet365.
