Premier League clubs to vie for Openda?

It seems RB Leipzig forward Lois Openda could be on his way to the Premier League in the near future. Different reports suggest Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all monitoring his situation with a view of a potential swoop.

The 23-year-old has so far scored five goals in 10 appearances since joining Leipzig from Lens this summer, one of those against reigning English and European champions Manchester City in the Champions League.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea could be prepared to pay another large transfer fee to get Openda in to try and solve their goalscoring problems, but Manchester United might swoop in as well. Caught Offside, on the other hand, believe it’s Liverpool who could move for his services, with the fact that Mohamed Salah might leave Anfield at the end of the season in mind.

If these Premier League giants are indeed considering Openda, they will be aware of Sky Sports in Germany reporting that the Belgian has an €80 million release clause in his five-year contract, which he signed upon arriving to Leipzig this July.
