Liverpool continued their strong start to the new Premier League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Bolton at Anfield.

Jordan Henderson, Martin Skrtel and Charlie Adam were on the scorers’ sheet for the hosts, while Ivan Klasnic nabbed a late consolation for Bolton.

Liverpool were dominant from the outset and it took just 15 minutes for Kenny Dalglish’s side to make their early advantage count.

Henderson netted his first goal for his new club after the Bolton defence failed to deal with a fabulous cross from Suarez, allowing the former Sunderland man to dispatch the ball into the net with his left foot.

It was exactly what Liverpool deserved for their early efforts and by the end of the first half-hour, Bolton were lucky to be only one goal behind with the Reds producing some magnificent play.

Suarez should have added a goal to his impressive first-half display after he was put clean through on goal and elected to lob Jussi Jaaskelainen, only for the ball to land on the roof of the net.

Bolton made fleeting inroads into the Liverpool half, with an impressive run from substitute Mark Davies the highlight, though Pepe Reina was on hand to deal with the subsequent shot from the Trotters’ midfielder.

Liverpool started the second half with another wave of urgency, and two goals in the space of a minute followed.

Adam was at the centre of both, first delivering an in-swinging corner that Skrtel nodded home for a 2-0 lead.

Former Blackpool man Adam then shrugged off a challenge from Nigel Reo-Coker and fired a right-footed shot into the bottom corner of Jaaskelainen’s goal.

Bolton recorded an injury time consolation through Klasnic after a mistake from Jamie Carragher in clearing a through-ball, but it could not take the shine of another impressive Liverpool display.
