PSV Eindhoven needed a second half goal to decide their match with newly promoted FC Volendam, while AZ Alkmaar continue their climb up the ranks with a convincing win over Willem II.

PSV lacked inspiration at the Philips Stadium, but did take the points thanks to a goal from Stijn Wuytens in the 73rd minute. The young Belgian headed home from an Otman Bakkal cross.

AZ Alkmaar showed a completely different performance at Willem II in Tilburg. Only 39 minutes were needed for Louis van Gaal to create a 0-5 lead.

El Hamdaoui took care of three of these five goals, and the other two came from De Zeeuw and Dembele.

Demouge did something back for the home side, scoring twice for a final 2-5 result.
