Dutch defending champions PSV Eindhoven suffered yet another defeat, this time at home to the hands of Roda JC. AZ Alkmaar easily defeated Volendam.

Roda JC, who hadn’t won a match so far, picked the right moment to start doing so. Hadouir, Oper and Bodor gave the side from Kerkrade an extremely comfortable 0-3 lead at Philips Stadium.

PSV did fight back and scored through Dzsudzsak and Lazovic, but Roda held on to their lead to take the points.

AZ Alkmaar needed only fifteen minutes to take the lead against Volendam, with Belgian Maarten Martens as scorer. El Hamdaoui added a second in the 76th minute and Martens soon netted his second of the night to make it 3-0.

FC Groningen take an at least temporary lead in the Eredivisie following a 3-0 win over Sparta.

Andersson scored twice within the first twenty minutes and Berg netted Groningen’s third and final goal on 34 minutes.
