QPR could be keen on Anelka

A report from the Sun is suggesting that Queens Park Rangers are ready to make a move for striker Nicolas Anelka in the January transfer window.

The Frenchman has not settled at Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua since joining from Chelsea last season and it is thought that he may relish the chance to play in the English Premier League once more.

Anelka does earn a huge wage in China though as he is currently on £250,000-per-week and it is unlikely that he find a top flight club that is willing to offer some a deal, especially at the age of 33.

If he did take a pay-cut though, then a number of teams are sure to be interested and Mark Hughes may feel as though his experience and eye for goal could help Rangers survive this campaign.

Owner Tony Fernandes has already state there will not be much business done in January, but he may feel as though Anelka could be a superb signing for QPR.

However, the former Chelsea man is reportedly keen on joining former club Liverpool and he would of course solve their problems going forward right now, but again would need to take a pay-cut.

We shall see.
