Fabio Quagliarella was delighted to net a brace as Juventus continued their winning start in Serie A with a 2-0 victory over Chievo.

The 29-year-old displayed all of his class to open the scoring with an acrobatic effort in Saturday’s match, before sealing the result with a neat solo effort inside the penalty area as Juve ran out 2-0 winners.

On Wednesday Quagliarella came off the bench to net the equaliser as Juve came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at holders Chelsea in the Champions League.

“This really is one of the greatest weeks in my life,” the forward told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was really pleasing to have received a standing ovation from the fans.

“Today I wanted to prove I was ready and I accomplished just that. I did my duty.”

The game was Quagliarella’s first start of the season for Juve and hopes to convince head coach Antonio Conte he is worthy of a regular starting slot.

“We’ll see (if I start against Fiorentina next week),” he said.

“I always ensure I am prepared if I am called upon, following which I will leave it to the coach to decide.”
