Jarell Quansah has withdrawn from England’s squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Latvia.
The defender, who did not feature in England’s 3-0 friendly win over Wales on Thursday, has returned to Bayer Leverkusen as a precaution.
England did not reveal the nature of his injury, but Leverkusen will hope it is not serious, as Quansah has been a mainstay in their defence this season.
He has played all nine matches for Leverkusen without missing a single minute, helping them keep two clean sheets so far.

England have opted not to call up a replacement for Quansah.
Thomas Tuchel’s side currently sit top of Group K, having won all five of their matches so far without conceding.
They can qualify for next year’s World Cup on Tuesday if they beat Latvia and Serbia fail to win both of their matches against Albania and Andorra during the current break.
