Quick Report: Anorthosis shock Panathinaikos, Inter and Werder draw

Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta are surprise leaders in Group B following a convincing 3-1 win over Panathinaikos. Internazionale were held by Werder Bremen and lose their top spot.

José Sarriegi scored an own goal in Anorthosis’ advantage after eleven minutes and Dobrasinovic doubled the lead just four minutes later.

Dimitris Salpingidis got one back from the penalty spot in the 28th minute but Hawar Zeebari then decided the clash in the 78th minute, 3-1.

Thirteen minutes were needed for Internazionale to take the lead versus Werder Bremen, with Maicon beating goalkeeper Wiese for 1-0.

But Claudio Pizarro levelled a few minutes after the hour mark, earning Werder a second draw in two games.

Marco Materazzi had to come off early in the first half.
