A stunning goal from Del Piero and a header from Amauri earned Juventus a prestigious 2-1 win over Real Madrid in Group H.

Only five minutes had been played when Alessandro Del Piero slammed the ball past Casillas from outside the penalty area to give the home side an early lead.

And Amauri headed Juventus’ second past the goalkeeper, with Heinze slightly deflecting the ball, to make it 2-0 in the fourth minute after the break.

Real Madrid then began applying more pressure and got their reward through Ruud van Nistelrooy in the 66th minute but the Spanish visitors wouldn’t score a second.

Juventus now take the lead in this group with seven points from three games, and Real Madrid are second with four points.
