For the second time in two weeks, Juventus beat Real Madrid with a particularly impressive Alessandro Del Piero. Zenit earned their first win in this group at BATE Borisov.

Del Piero put Juventus in the lead after seventeen minutes at Santiago Bernabeu stadium, beating Casillas from outside the penalty area.

Madrid attacked but hardly ever managed to threaten the Italian defense. Instead, Juventus got a second on 67 minutes as Del Piero’s free kick beat a poorly constructed wall for 0-2.

Zenit St Petersburg’s Pogrebnyak put his side in the lead after 34 minutes at BATA Borisov in Belarus.

The Russians had Puygrenier sent off with a second yellow card in the 73rd minute but did hold on to their lead. In fact they added a second goal through Danny in the 94th minute.

Having earned ten points so far, and considering some complicated calculations, Juventus have secured their spot in the next round. Madrid are second with six points and will worry about Zenit, third with four points. BATE seem out of contention with two points.
