Olympique de Marseille held Atletico de Madrid to a goalless draw and advance to the UEFA Cup at the expense of PSV Eindhoven.

One point against Atletico at the Velodrome of Marseille was enough for the French to secure their spot in the UEFA Cup, while Atletico have to be satisfied with a second place in this group.

PSV Eindhoven momentarily headed for a surprise with Danko Lazovic scoring the opening goal against Liverpool on 36 minutes.

But the English recovered their concentration and Ryan Babel equalised just before the break. Riera then put Liverpool in the lead in the 68th minute and N’Gog made it 1-3 nine minutes later.

The three points leave Liverpool in first place in Group D with 14 points from six games. Atletico have twelve and are far ahead of Marseille with 4. PSV won one but lost five of their matches and finish in last place.
