(GSM) – Former Rangers goalkeeper Andy Goram believes Danny Wilson is making a huge mistake signing with Liverpool.

Rangers legend Goram, who had a brief spell with Manchester United in 2001, thinks the 18-year-old defender is too young to go abroad.

“I’m sorry, I think the lad’s making a BIG mistake for his football career,” said Goram in his column for the Scottish Sun.

“He should be staying at Ibrox for at least another two years – then consider leaving.

“He could still have gone to Liverpool then.

“Now, though, I see young Wilson heading to Anfield and becoming a fringe man and making the odd appearance here and there, if at all.

“Let’s be realistic here. How many top matches is he going to feature in for Liverpool in the next few seasons?

“Not many, I’m certain.

“No, he would’ve definitely been better off staying at Ibrox for the immediate future and continuing his progress.”
