Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has hailed his side’s 2-0 win over Torino on Sunday, labelling it a ‘satisfactory result’.

The 24-year-old centre-back put in a gritty display to keep out the Toro at Stadio Olimpico, and has praised the work his defensive partner Juan Jesus has put in since his summer move from Internacional.

“There is a lot of satisfaction here,” he told Sky Italia.

“But I also want to give my compliments to Torino. It was important win today, because it was crucial not to lose ground against the leaders.

“Hopefully [Juan Jesus and I can become permanent partners]. We are working together, but there are also [Walter] Samuel, [Crisitan] Chivu, [Matias] Silvestre to consider, but together we can play in all competitions.”

The former Genoa man believes putting good performances in at club level, may capture the attention of Italy national boss Cesare Prandelii.

“I have made a positive start to the season, but I just want to concentrate on Inter. Then, if I continue to do well, hopefully the national team will come,” he added.
