Odds: 13/10 @ Bet365

Two teams of the leading candidates to secure the lucrative fourth spot in the Bundesliga table this season, on Monday night last years runners-up RB Leipzig will welcome Leverkusen to the Red Bull Arena.

While the Bundesliga latest franchise hasn’t quite been able to match their eye-catching second-place finish last season, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Bull once again looks like securing Champions League football for the Red Bull Arena. Although they may sit just a single point above their guests on Monday night, Leipzig know that if they can carry on their fine form of late they will leapfrog Dortmund into third. Coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Marseille in their Europa League quarter-final clash, Leipzig are now on a three-match winning run have not lost a match in all competitions in their last six outings. Scoring the only goal in midweek, Leipzig forward Timo Werner will be hoping to carry on his own individual scoring record, the German international has 11 goals for the season, the fourth highest in the Bundesliga.

As for Bayer Leverkusen, after only managing to secure a 12th place finish last season, Heiko Herrlich’s side now look on the verge of bringing European football back to the BayArena. Sat fifth in the Bundesliga table and just a point behind Leipzig, Leverkusen were held to a 0-0 draw last time out at home to Augsburg – the 2nd time in 2018 that Heiko Herrlich’s men have failed to score in consecutive Bundesliga matches. While the visitors’ Kevin Volland is just one goal behind Leipzig’s Timo Werner in the goalscorer rankings, his longest ever drought at the club without a goal at does little for his (or the team’s) confidence.
