Real Madrid’s veteran striker Raul Gonzalez, who was injured in the ‘El Clasico’ match against Barcelona at the weekend, will be out of action for two to three weeks, the club said Monday.

The Real captain underwent a medical test that confirmed the injury to his right knee.

The 32-year-old received the knock shortly after coming on as a substitute during Real’s 2-0 loss to Barcelona stadium on Saturday.

That result leaves the big-spending club trailing arch-rivals Barca by three points at the top of the Primera Liga with seven games left.
