Real Madrid 21/20 to beat Galatasaray to nil in Wednesday’s Champions League contest

Competition: Champions League

Market: Real Madrid win to nil

Odds: 21/20 @ Bet 365

Desperate to extend their buffer over Club Brugge, Real Madrid will welcome Group A strugglers Galatasaray to the Bernabéu on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while fans around the Bernabéu were left disappointed to have played out a 0-0 stalemate against Real Betis over the weekend, there is no doubt that Head Coach Zinedine Zidane will be most impressed by his side’s newfound defensive resolve. Now recording a trio of clean sheets on the bounce they have also not picked the ball out of their net in over 350 minutes of action. It should also be noted that Los Blancos have also recorded back-to-back clean sheets in the Spanish capital. Landing a 1-0 over Galatasaray on foreign soil a fortnight ago, there is no doubt that Real Madrid should be confident of picking up three crucial Group A points in midweek.

As for the visitors, while Galatasaray may have managed to pick up a much-needed 2-0 win over Rizespor over the weekend, it does not cover what has been another worrying European campaign for the former Turkish champions. Suffering back-to-back defeats against Real Madrid and PSG, Fatih Terim’s men have remarkably not recorded a victory in Europe’s premier tournament since September 2018, an eight-match winless run. Sadly for Wednesday’s guests, they also have a growing reputation for their toothless displays in the final third. Yet to record a single Group A strike in any of their three Group A appearances, and have now failed to find the net in seven of their last eight Champions League outings.
