Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign German midfielder Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich, reports Marca.

The Bavarians reportedly accepted an offer believed to be in the region of €25m to €30m, with the player set to sign a five-year contract worth €5 million per campaign.

Considering that the midfielder’s contract at Alianz Arena was due to expire in June 2015, it appears Bayern officials had no choice but to cash in on their star player.

Toni Kroos has established himself as a key player for both club and country over the last couple of years, but he has recently fallen out with coach Pep Guardiola.

The 24-year-old has so far amassed 130 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern, helping the club win three league titles.

Having played full 90 minutes in each of Germany’s matches at the 2014 World Cup, Kroos is likely to start the Last 16 stage clash against Algeria, where die Mannschaft are priced at 1/3 to win the game in regular time.

Liverpool eyeing Uruguay star

Portuguese daily newspaper Record understands that Liverpool are considering a move for Benfica full-back Maxi Pereira.

The Reds plan to sign another experienced right-back to challenge Glen Johnson for a starting berth and they seem to be hot on the trail of the Uruguay international.

And with Pereira’s deal at Estadio da Luz due to expire in a year’s time, Liverpool hope they can sign the 30-year-old on a cut-price deal.

The experienced defender has spent last seven years with the Eagles, having joined from Defensor Sporting back in 2007.

He has since made a total of 179 league appearances for Benfica, scoring 9 goals and winning two league trophies in the process.

Pereira has also earned no less than 82 Uruguay caps and made three outings at the 2014 World Cup as La Celeste were eliminated in the Last 16 stage.

Heerenveen confirm Finbogasson set to join Real Sociedad

Eredivisie side Heerenveen have moved to confirm reports linking star player Alfred Finnbogason with a summer move to Real Sociedad.

The two clubs have been negotiating a deal over the past few weeks and it appears only minor details are left to be sorted.

Heerenveen sporting director Hans Vonk has revealed the transfer should be made official in the coming days.

“I expect the deal to finalise this week. If it works, everyone is happy,” Vonk was quoted as saying in Voetbal International.

The Dutch daily newspaper claims La Real will pay around €8 million for the player they expect to challenge Imanol Agirretxe and Haris Seferovic for a starting berth.

Alfred Finnbogason, 25, has been scoring goals for fun since arriving from Lokeren, having bagged 53 goals in 65 Eredivisie appearances.
