Lazio coach Edy Reja insists he has had enough of the behaviour of winger Mauro Zarate.
The 24-year-old refused to play in the first leg of Lazio’s Europa League play-off with Macedonian side Rabotnicki last week, amid rumours Inter Milan were interested in him as a replacement for Samuel Eto’o.
But Reja is sick of Zarate’s antics, and wanted to let the club’s fans know why the Argentine was not used against Rabotnicki.
“Zarate was the one who pulled out of that game,” Reja said. “Lazio supporters should know how things went.”
“I’m a bit tired of it. He is in the UEFA list and he stood back, so you should ask him. He doesn’t want to play a UEFA match in case he can get a transfer.”
Even without Zarate, who scored nine goals in the league last season, Lazio look certain to make the group stages of the Europa League following a 6-0 win in the first leg over the Macedonians.
