Arjen Robben has underlined the importance of team spirit to Bayern Munich’s treble-winning season.
The German side added the DFB-Pokal to their Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League victories by beating Stuttgart 3-2 in Saturday’s final in Berlin.
And Robben, who scored the winning goal in the Champions League final last weekend, has lauded the unity in the Bayern camp.
The Dutch winger said: “We have a great team, and we grew together so much this season. We also improved a lot. We have a lot of quality, and our new signings helped us greatly.
“We are one team, on and off the pitch as well. And that’s the most important thing.”
Central midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who made 44 appearances in all competitions as the German outfit took an unprecedented treble, echoed his team-mate’s sentiments.
He said: “Its unbelievable how we’ve played this season – we’ve been rewarded for working so hard, it’s just unbelievable.”
Saturday’s cup final marked the end of Jupp Heynckes’ time at Bayern, with Pep Guardiola set to replace him at the club next season.
