(GSM) – Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has brushed aside controversy claims following a series of disastrous decisions by referee Tim Henning Ovrebo during the Bavarians’ clash against Fiorentina at the Allianz Arena.

Robben also pointed out that he is confident Bayern will progress to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

The Italians were furious when they had left-back Massimo Gobbi sent off in the second half for a raised arm, a bizarre decision which the replays showed was unfair.

And when it looked like as if the Florence outfit would claim an admirable draw, Bayern won the game via a Miroslav Klose header. However, replays showed that the German striker was clearly offside when he converted.

With the furious Italians speaking of controversy, Robben rubbished the claims, insisting that such incidents often do happen in football matches.

“We are happy, that is the goal we needed and in the end we won the game, but that is football sometimes you get it for you, but sometimes against,” he told Sky Sports.

“There is a lot to play for, 2-1 is not the best result, but we won the game, and they now have to try and create chances.

“We go into the game having to play better, but with a lot of confidence.”
