Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, and Galatasaray were previously winning the race to secure his signature. However, the Dutch international has been deemed too expensive for the Turkish outfit, and which increases the likelihood of him stay at United past the summer.

Suffering a poor campaign with the Premier League outfit, Van Persie was tipped for an exit, as his manager Louis van Gaal was unhappy with his performances. The 31-year-old striker has endured a difficult last two years with the Red Devils, and a host of clubs have shown themselves keen to offer him a reprieve elsewhere. Due to the Italian Serie A’s slow pace of play that suits ageing players, the likes of Juventus, Lazio and Inter Milan have been linked with his services.

And in addition to Galatasaray, another Turkish side in Fenerbahce are reportedly keen. However, his high wages demands are ruling out most sides from making a genuine offer this summer, and 888 Sport are giving odds of 3/5 for Robin van Persie to remain at Old Trafford ahead of the new season.
