Rodwell set for Roma medical

According to a recent report from Sky Italy, former Manchester City and Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell is set for a medical at Italian side Roma today ahead of his free transfer switch to the club. The 28 year old was released by Blackburn Rovers back in the summer, and is set to revive his career in a big way with this jump to Roma. The reason he’s being signed is due to the lack of available options in the middle of the park at the club following a series of unfortunate injuries.

Now, fans are questioning whether or not he’ll be able to make this golden opportunity count after spending the last few years failing to live up to the reputation that many had for him at such a young age.

In many ways this serves as a cautionary tale for all young footballers out there that it isn’t always going to go exactly how the scouts and so-called experts think it will.
