In what could be a lively encounter on Wednesday night, Roma will welcome a stalling Atalanta to the Stadio Olimpico.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a 2-1 win away at Bologna over the weekend, Roma have continued to shine under new boss Paulo Fonseca. One of just three sides in Italy’s top-tier who are yet to taste defeat since opening the new season, the former European giants are enjoying a three-match winning run, a run that also saw them put four past Turkish outfit Istanbul Başakşehir last week. Continuing to show some real improvements in the final third and led by former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, Roma should be confident of making it four in four on Wednesday.

As for the visitors, while Atalanta may have managed to snatch a dramatic 2-2 draw off of Serie A strugglers Fironetina, last year’s dark horse have struggled to burst out of the blocks this time around. Also suffering a humiliating 4-0 hammering away at Dinamo Zagreb in their European debut, fans around the Gewiss Stadium have seen their side win just one of their last four matches across all formats and have some growing defensive issues. Yet to record a single clean sheet since opening the new campaign, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have also shipped two or more goals in four of their last five appearances.
