The agent of Lyon full-back Aly Cissokho has confirmed reports that his client could join AS Roma at the end of the season.
The highly rated defender was linked with a move to Serie A last summer, but les Gones somehow managed to hold on to him.
However, it appears the player has now set his mind on leaving Gerland at the end of the season, and he should have no shortage of offers.
Cissokho’s representative has now revealed that a move to AS Roma is a realistic possibility.
“Roma are in the market for a left-back,” Fabrizio Ferrari told Italian radio station Tele Radio Stereo 92.7.
“Two years ago, Cissokho almost joined Milan but eventually moved to Lyon for €14 million.”
Ferrari believes his client can be acquired for a fee in the region of €7m and €9m.
”Today, given the difficulties of the club and the fact they will not be playing Champions League football next season, the market value can be between €7m and €9m. These are normal values for key players.”
The agent, however, denies there has been any official contact with the Giallorossi.
“Still no official contacts but he is a player who can be interesting to Roma. Formally, Lyon did not place him on the transfer list but, given a good proposal, we will study this possibility.”
The 24-year-old full-back has amassed a total of 45 competitive appearances for Lyon this term, but has yet to get on the scoresheet.
